A Deansgate Airbnb, from half-empty to Superhost
Lauren had a two-bedroom apartment in one of Manchester’s best locations and could not fill it. We took the listing over, rebuilt the cleaning, linen and guest response, and turned a 4.5-star, half-empty calendar into a Superhost listing running at 97% occupancy.

The problem
Lauren launched her two-bedroom Deansgate apartment in April 2023. The location is as central as Manchester short lets get, but the calendar told a different story: she was booking only 13 to 16 nights a month, roughly half the time, and her rating had settled at 4.5. The pattern behind both was the clean. The standard was inconsistent and the cleaner she was relying on was not, and on a short let that shows up fast, in the reviews and in the bookings that never convert.
An individual host has no slack to absorb it. One below-par changeover becomes a review, a run of them holds the rating under the Superhost threshold that drives visibility, and a 4.5 on a prime apartment quietly loses to the listing next door. By June 2024, Lauren came to us.
What we changed
We took the whole thing over, not just the cleaning. The apartment was relisted, the clean was rebuilt to a fixed standard, the linen and presentation were replaced, and fast guest response was put behind all of it. Four changes did most of the work.
What it took
None of it was instant. 2025 was the hard year: the work was recovering ground, rebuilding the rating review by review while carrying a listing that had been underperforming. Guaranteeing consistency on a single apartment took three cleaners in rotation, which is more resource than a struggling listing usually justifies, and that was exactly the point. By 2026 the numbers turned: Superhost, a 4.9 rating, and 97% of nights filled, with a best month of 29 nights in May 2026. Lauren’s own verdict is that she is over the moon, and the goal now is simply to hold it there.

What we would do differently
The recovery through 2025 was slower than it needed to be. If we started again we would front-load the relisting and the rating rebuild into the first month rather than letting them catch up, and we would be clearer with Lauren from the start that year one is a rebuild, not an instant return. The destination would be the same. It would just hurt less on the way there.
